World record: Henze-Glas causes a sensation with giant dimensions
Insulated glass with record dimensions of 3300 x 18000 mm at Glasstec 2010.
All eyes are on the largest-scale energy-saving glass available at the moment with record measurements of 3300 x 18000 mm, a weight of 4455 kg and a design of 3 layers of 10 mm float glass. Dietmar Henze, Managing Director of Henze-Glas, said: "With our gigantic pane of insulated glass, we have taken a step towards never before seen dimensions. I had a few sleepless nights, but together with my colleagues, I have achieved something that others did not dare to do or did not even imagine. And we are proud of that."
As one of the very few suppliers of large-scale glass panes, Henze-Glas has positioned itself in this oversized section of the market for some years now. The large-scale glass panes are produced in Hörden am Harz. Here, the glass is processed and made into insulated glass. Henze-Glas had already invested significant amounts in production and handling some years ago in order to produce and process these special insulated glass panes. The UNIGLAS® cooperation partner in Hörden has been producing panes with dimensions of 3210 x 6000 mm since 2001. Thanks to constant further development and optimisation, today, 3-layer insulated glass with different structures and dimensions such as 3210 x 9000 mm with an ug value of 0.6W/m² is now mass produced. With our own special transporters, we are able to transport the gigantic panes to the construction site, planning every manoeuvre in detail. Here, the Hörden-based specialists ensure professional assembly. With its gigantic insulated glass pane, Henze-Glas shows the possibilities for glass facades with a large surface area with maximum transparency in an impressive way.
